Benefits of Giving
Most of us are pressed for time (yet another ailment stemming from the growth economy), so it’s understandable that everyone can’t undertake a series of personal actions to promote the steady state economy. But you can help CASSE work on sustainability, economic justice, and maintaining the resource base for future generations by becoming a member or making a donation. As an added bonus, you can rest assured that your expenditure won’t be used to grow the economy!
CASSE’s interim goal for advancing the steady state economy is to make it politically acceptable for our leaders to discuss the merits of managing without growth. In order to do that, we need to gain widespread support for the steady state economy, but most people are simply unaware of it. We firmly believe that when people learn about the steady state economy as a desirable alternative to unsustainable growth, they will begin to demand a transition. Your financial support enables CASSE to distribute this message as widely and effectively as possible. When you become a CASSE member or make a donation, you can expect the following…
Getting the Bang for Your Buck
Membership dues and donations pay for staff time and projects to deliver our message. We are efficient, and we are careful to minimize overhead expenses. We have been very successful at leveraging our funds and staff time by working with dedicated volunteers.
Helping an Organization that Addresses the Root Cause
CASSE’s work is about addressing the underlying cause of a whole series of societal problems. With your donation dollars, you could take on climate change, species extinctions, poverty, overconsumption, or a number of other worthy issues. But these are just the symptoms of trying to grow the economy even when that growth costs more than it’s worth. Giving to CASSE helps us treat the root cause, so that we can take care of all the symptoms.
A Tax Deduction to Go with Your Donation
CASSE is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. You can take a tax deduction on your donation to the full extent allowed by law.
